Transport Support

Topic: bicycles

Your owners corporation can consider ways to make it easier for residents to reduce their reliance on cars and use healthier and more sustainable forms of transport. Options include:

  • providing  secure bicycle racks, lockers or cages
  • starting a car-pooling scheme for residents, and even the local neighbourhood
  • establishing a bike pool for residents. Many businesses are already doing it, and it could make sense for your complex if there’s not enough common property space to secure a large number of bicycles

Bike Storage

In my experience Cora provide the best value racks if you have a suitable space, these racks are strong and can hold up to 10 bikes, but do you do need access to the rack from both sides.

We checked out companies like CORA, STREET FURNITURE AUSTRALIA, SECURABIKE but found for our building the CORA system worked best, but is not as compact as you might like.

It is hard to recommend a system without seeing the space you want to place the racks in, best to look at those websites and products - review the space you need for each rack in the location you intend them to go and cost out the options, working out a cost per bike is a good way to compare them.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Bike storage

We are looking for a good racking system for bike storage. We have about 100 bikes in a small enclosure in the garage. Any suggestions for compact workable racking would be appreciated.
